LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The No. 4-ranked Louisville volleyball team hits the road for the first time in the 2024 season. They will face No. 7 Penn State Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

The Nittany Lions hold a 2-7 series lead over UofL, but the Cards won the last matchup last Sept. in Cardinal Arena. The game will be shown on ESPN+.

Louisville jumped two spots in the rankings after beating a pair of top 15 teams, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

It was a clean sweep of No. 15 Tennessee for the Louisville volleyball team. The Cards beat the Vols 25-14, 25-22 and 25-20 at the KFC Yum! Center Sunday.

It was the second win over a top-15 team in less than a week putting the Cards 2-0 for the season. Charitie Luper hit .474 with a double-double, getting 10 kills, 12 digs and an ace to lead the Cards. Outside hitter Sofia Maldonado Diaz had 11 kills and outside hitter Anna DeBeer racked up nine kills and three aces.

The win over Tennessee comes just days after coach Dani Busboom-Kelly’s team beat No. 3 Wisconsin in the AVCA First Serve Showcase.
