Rachelle Wright loves being outside, making her the perfect project director for the initiative.

“Several years ago, I decided I could do the 52 trail challenge. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of that. But you set out with the goal of doing 52 trails in one year’s time. And that led me to a great love of trails,” said Wright.

Now, she’s a part of Cave Country Trails, an organization dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles and bringing people together outdoors in Kentucky.

“They offer affordable family fun during the summer months. It’s pretty easy to drive to — it makes everyone feel great to be outside,” said Wright.

She says they have made it easier than ever to see trail options online. Trail maps are available for hiking, biking, paddling and more.

They’re organized by difficulty and include details like fees, pet policies and views you can expect to see.

Wright says exploring Kentucky trails can help in more ways than one.

“It recharges us to get back our lives that we love do what we love with even more creativity and energy,” said Wright.

Cave Country Trails has trail challenges that explorers can compete in. Information on challenges and prizes available can be found on their Facebook page.
