LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Foundation hosted its "Heroes and Hot Rods" fundraiser June 23 at Mike Linnig’s on Cane Run Road, honoring Officer Nickolas Wilt.

Families enjoyed a car show, bourbon raffle, kids’ activities, and a chance to meet and greet with officers. 

“It is essential to have an event like this not only for the fundraising but for the officers to see how much the community loves them," said LMPD Foundation Executive Director Rebecca Grignon-Reker. 

The money raised from the event will help Wilt in his recovery. He was wounded while responding to the April 2023 Old National Bank mass shooting in downtown Louisville before undergoing multiple surgeries and intensive therapy.
