President of Spotted Yeti, Molly Berrens said there are so many ideas running through her head to bring a mural to life.

This will be the third time Berrens and her staff will participate in the BLINK festival, as one of the featured projection artists. This year they’ll light up a mural created by Amsterdam-based artist group, London Police for the 2019 Blink Festival.

She said, "One of the distinguishable characteristics of their artwork are these layered characters. I believe in this scene they’re called squeeze lads because they’re underwater. As you can see, there’s a very distinguishable mermaid that we hope to activate.”

Spotted Yeti is just one of over 80 artists selected to create 100 installations of projection maps, murals and interactive light sculptures and art.

BLINK’S executive director, Justin Brookhart, said he couldn’t be happier to expand BLINK to northern Kentucky and work with artists on both sides of the river.

Brookhart said, “We get to work with a lot of new artists each year, and we get to work with folks like Spot and Yeti, who are returning for their third time to be a part of the event. So for us, it’s about, you know, finding projects that are exciting to us, finding artists that are exciting to us, and helping to create artwork that we hope will thrill the people of Cincinnati, northern Kentucky come October.”

Berrens says being a part of BLINK is like a dream.

She said, ”It’s indescribable. The first night of both blinks in 2019 and 2022, when you see it light up for the first time with your team after months of hard work, it’s just awesome to see.”

In a few months, Spotted Yeti and all the other artists will light up the sky both literally and metaphorically.
