LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In April, the Transit Authority of River City announced its 2025 budget, and it included several route reductions.
TARC is holding a pair of open house meetings so residents and passengers can ask questions, learn more about and provide feedback on the proposed service reductions.
The changes set to take effect on June 30 are being implemented to help with TARC’s projected fiscal crisis. The changes include:
The proposed service adjustments will affect 22 of TARC’s 30 fixed-route bus lines. Specifically, the frequency of 19 routes will be reduced to the current Saturday service levels, and three of the least-used routes will be eliminated.
Service levels on eight of the most widely used routes will remain unchanged.
TARC3 paratransit service will not be affected.
The public meetings are taking place on Tuesday, June 4 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Union Station, which is at 1000 West Broadway and on Wednesday, June 5 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Douglass Boulevard Christian Church. The church is at 2005 Douglass Blvd.
Residents who can’t attend either meeting can provide feedback in other ways. They are:
