BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Warren County seniors are graduating in three weeks as they prepare to adjust to a new phase in their lives.

To help students prepare for their next chapter, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a job fair for graduating students.

Meredith Rozanski, the chamber of commerce’s executive vice president, said events like this help local companies fill vacancies and give students a foot in the door.

“There’s two positions for every one person looking for a position right now," Rozanski said. "We want to make sure we are capturing all the local talent we can.”

Many businesses were represented, ranging from electric companies to health care and even public services.

“You take these high school students," said Matt Marsee, workforce development manager for M&L Electrical Inc. "They’re willing and eager to work. The only thing is, you have to train them.”

“We work outside, so you've got to have a lot of energy," said Matt Zoellner, special project manager for Murphy Construction Group. "You've got to be willing to work when it’s 100 degrees or 30 degrees out.”

Bowling Green High School senior Luke Ettinne said he found the fair helpful. 

"I don’t have to go out in my car and drive somewhere for an interview," Ettinne said. 

Warren County seniors will graduate Friday, May 24, and Saturday, May 25.
