BARDSTOWN, Ky. — Attorneys involved in the Crystal Rogers murder trial have agreed to move it to Christian County. The county seat is Hopkinsville.

Attorneys for Brooks Houck, Joseph Lawson and Steve Lawson argue the years of media attention surrounding the case, makes it impossible for any of the men to receive a fair trial in Nelson County.

A judge is expected to make a final determination during a May 1 hearing.

Houck is accused of murdering Rogers and tampering with evidence surrounding her disappearance. Houck was Rogers’ boyfriend at the time of her July 2015 disappearance. The mother of five is presumed dead.

Steven Lawson and his son, Joseph, are both charged with conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence.
