LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Longines, official timekeeper and watch of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks since 2011, is releasing a limited edition, 150-piece series of its Mini DolceVita model to commemorate the races' 150th anniversaries.
The $3,900 watch will have a double strap in pink Nappa leather, Longines said. This is in honor of pink being the emblematic color of Kentucky Oaks day while also raising awareness for women's health issues.
A portion of proceeds will go to the Horses and Hope charity, which the Kentucky Cancer Program at the University of Louisville established in 2008 with former Kentucky first lady Jane Beshear. The charity was established to increase breast cancer screening and education among Kentucky's horse industry workers. It was also the first partner with Churchill Downs to celebrate cancer survivors.
Each watch will be part of the Unbridled Eve Derby Gala, on display at Churchill Downs for Oaks and Derby and available for purchase at Davis Jewelers (9901 Forest Green Blvd.), UofL said.
Longines said all watches are presented in a rectangular stainless-steel case measuring 21.50 x 29 millimeters and are set with 38 Top Wesselton diamonds.
Reflecting Longines' "quiet luxury," the Mini DolceVita collection was launched in 2023 and is an extension of its DolceVita family, itself inspired by a piece the brand created in 1927.
