LOUISVILLE, Ky. — We are just over 60 days away from the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby and the Kentucky Derby Museum announced there will be five designers serving as this year’s official featured milliners.

  • Their creations will be highlighted at the annual Derby Museum Hat Show

  • The show takes place Sunday, March 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Melissa Huff, Mary Julia Kaiser, Ilana Kogan, Christine Moore and Jenny Pfanenstiel have all served in the role before. The Museum’s Featured Milliner program highlights millinery while supporting small business owners at the same time. Creations from each of the women will be featured at the Kentucky Derby Museum Hat Show on Sunday, March 24.

Katie Fussenegger, Kentucky Derby Museum Executive Vice President, said in a news release, “This annual event not only showcases the incredible talent of our Featured Milliners but also emphasizes the importance of hat making as an art form deeply rooted in Derby history. The Kentucky Derby Museum Hat Show brings together tradition, innovation and a whole lot of fun, setting the stage for a Derby season that will be nothing short of spectacular!”

The show won’t only feature hats, guests will be treated to jewelry trends for the year from David Yurman and Davis Jewelers. Guests will receive complimentary mimosas, bloody marys and “brunch bites” before the models hit the runway. Wine Country Women will offer sparkling wine options from Napa Valley and Sonoma County winemakers. After the show, there will be an opportunity for everyone to shop and meet the milliners.

VIP and Premier tickets are on sale now for the fan-favorite event on Sunday, March 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
