LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The signature event for Kentucky Derby fashion trends is almost here, with the annual Dillard's Spring Fashion Show set for March 28 at Caesars Southern Indiana.
Organizers said this year's show, themed "The Millinery Metaverse," will highlight fashion's past, present and future in honor of Kentucky Derby 150. The event will begin with boutique shopping and cocktails at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the fashion show at 8 p.m.
Dillard's, which returns for its second year as the event's title sponsor, will feature outfits and accessories. Boutiques such as Generation Tux, Him & Her Boutique, Mamili, The Lovely Fig, Sapphire on Spring Boutique, That Cute Little Shop and The Urban Market will also feature looks, organizers said.
The Hat Girls, the Derby Festival's official hat designer, will provide hats, while J Michael's Spa & Salon are in charge of hair and make-up. Models are from Heyman Talent Agency, according to the Derby Festival.
Balcony tickets, which are $75, are still available on the festival's website. They include hors d'oeuvres, two drink tickets, a "swag bag," an event pin and a silent disco experience from Louisville Silent Disco. All attendees must be 21 or older.
The Derby Festival Fashion Show began in 1990 as a concept for unveiling the board of directors' uniform, the teal Pegasus jacket, before becoming a permanent addition to the festival schedule. Contributing sponsors of this year's show are Caesars Southern Indiana, Generation Tux, Him & Her Boutique, J Michael's Spa and Salon and Millennium Events, the festival said.
