The tour has been highlighting Kentucky’s musical heritage around the state since May 2023. “This tour has been a very special experience. We’ve gotten to play in so many extraordinary places,” said Teddy Abrams, musical director for the Louisville Orchestra.

The orchestra presented a closing concert in Fort Knox with special guest artist Michael Cleveland and his band Flame Keeper. The last leg of the tour highlighted the music Kentucky is famous for — Bluegrass. Abrams emphasized the importance of sharing music with everyone. “Whether you come from an urban area, or a rural part of Kentucky, we share music, and it brings us together literally,” he said.

He says the tour reached between 34,000 and 35,000 people around the commonwealth. “We’ve experienced the power of music every single time,” Abrams shared.

While this tour is coming to an end, the Louisville Orchestra plans to continue doing more events around state.

“We’re not going to be happy until we’ve visited every single part of Kentucky,” Abrams noted.

The orchestra’s next event is “March Music Madness” on Mar. 16. The performance celebrates the best of sports anthems.
