LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Derby didn't name a featured milliner until 2018, three years later and it's the same person. Christine Moore is once again the featured hat maker of the Kentucky Derby.
Moore's hat designs have been around the racing industry for the past ten years and have been seen at some of the world's biggest and best equine events. In addition to her featured role with the Derby, Moore is also the Official Milliner for the Breeders' Cup Race of Champions, America's Best Racing, the Jim McKay Maryland Million Day, the Iroquois Steeplechase, and the Thoroughbread Owners and Breeders Association. She is also the featured milliner at Keeneland, the Florida Derby, and the Preakness Stakes.
“As the Kentucky Derby’s first featured milliner, I’m thrilled to continue to bring my designs to Derby fans again for the third year,” said Moore. “The Derby is one of the most exciting days in racing and thanks to the famous hats, it’s also one of the most exciting days in fashion.”
Some of the most famous heads in the world have had Moore's creations on top of them. She has designed headwear for Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Steffi Graff, Al Roker, and Bo Derek. Moore's hats have also been seen on Nashville, Gossip Girl, The Carrie Diaries, and Horseplayers.
If you are interested in one of Moore's hats, she has them available for men and women on her website.
