LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington Legends are back. The Minor League Baseball team formerly known as the Counter Clocks announced they were changing back to their original name on Feb. 15.

In addition to being rebranded, the team’s mascot has also been updated and given a new name. The new mascot is named “Mighty Lex” and is described by the team as an “old school” baseball player with a handlebar mustache and a mischievous smirk.

During a news conference, Legends General Manager Justin Ferrarella spoke about the team’s commitment to the community.

“It is your baseball team, and what I mean by it being your baseball team is we are here to serve you,” he said. “So, anything we can do to help you inside the community, around the ballpark, please let us know. We appreciate your feedback, your concerns, however we can help please — I’m all ears. All we want to do is provide the best and most affordable family fun entertainment in Lexington.”

The Lexington Legends first game of the season will be April 25 as they begin their 24th season of professional baseball in Central Kentucky.
