The region’s average price per gallon is $2.872. That’s two cents lower than the average price for the week of Nov. 27 ($2.898) and 27 cents lower compared to this time last year, when the average price was $3.142 for the week of Dec. 5, 2022. • $2.865    Bowling Green
  • $2.816    Elizabethtown
  • $3.008    Louisville
  • $2.778    Owensboro
  • $2.895    Paducah

Nationally, the average price of $3.24 is 18 cents less than a month ago and 17 cents less than a year ago. According to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) cited by AAA, gas demand decreased from 8.48 to 8.21 million barrels per day (b/d) last week while total gasoline stocks increased from 1.8 million to 218.2 million barrels.

The report adds lower demand has contributed to limiting pump price increases amid fluctuating oil prices. West Texas Intermediate increased by $1.45 to settle at $77.86 at the close of the Nov. 29 formal trading session. Should demand move higher than expected, a tight oil supply could raise prices.
