LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The college basketball season has just started and already Louisville fans and the men’s basketball team have something to look forward to in 2024.

The University of Louisville announced the men’s team will compete in the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. Joining the Cards in the eight-team field will be Indiana, Arizona, Creighton, Davidson, Gonzaga, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

The tournament will be held Nov. 27-29, 2024, at Atlantis Paradise Island in Paradise Islands, Bahamas.

This will be the third time UofL has competed in the Battle 4 Atlantis. They played in the tournament in 2012 and 2016 and reached the championship game both times. They hold a 4-2 all-time record in the event.

The last time UofL went to the Bahamas was in 2021, when they competed and won the Baha Mar Hoops championship.

The Cards have yet to win a tournament game under coach Kenny Payne. In 2022, they played in the Maui Invitational and went 0-3 and they were 0-2 in this year’s Empire Classic in New York.

Four of the teams slated to play—Arizona, Creighton, Gonzaga and Oklahoma—are currently ranked in the Associated Press Top 25.

None of the teams are strangers to the Cards. UofL has played every team in the Battle 4 Atlantis and has an overall record of 25-24 against the potential opponents.

The Cardinals have played Indiana the most and have a 9-12 record against the Hoosiers. They are 9-4 vs. West Virginia, 3-2 vs. Arizona, 2-0 vs. Davidson, 1-3 vs. Oklahoma, 1-2 vs. Creighton and they lost to Gonzaga the one time they played.
