LEXINGTON, Ky. — Missy’s Pies, Etc. is a shop that has been open for over 30 years. Thanksgiving is the pie shop’s busiest time.
Employees worked over-time to keep up with orders, including general manager Chelsea Oliver.
She has been with Missy’s Pies for the past year.
Oliver says that this Thanksgiving was a record-setting year for the pie shop. They sold over 3,000 pies in five days and had over $30,000 in sales on Wednesday alone.
She started her Wednesday shift at midnight and didn’t leave the shop until 7:30 that evening. In that time frame she made over 300 pies.
All the hard work seems to have paid off.
“We look at last year’s. We hope to increase it by at least 200 to 300 pies and we greatly increased it this year by $11,000 in sales so that was kind of a point of pride, but also really had us scratching our heads trying to figure out how we actually pulled it off,” she shared.
Missy’s Pies’ success can be attributed to word-of-mouth and a loyal following.
