FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky., has released plans for his second inauguration alongside Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman.

  • Events are slated throughout the day beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the Inaugural Breakfast Reception at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History

  • The Swearing-in Ceremony will take place at the Capitol at 2:00 p.m.

The 62nd Kentucky gubernatorial inauguration will take place on Dec. 12, 2023, with events slated throughout the day. The Beshear administration announced the inauguration’s theme — “Forward Together” — and said all events public inaugural event would be free and open to the public.

The day’s events begin at 8:30 a.m. with the Inaugural Breakfast Reception at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History. The breakfast is followed by the Inaugural Worship Service at 9:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Frankfort.

The Inaugural Parade takes place at 11:00 a.m. and will be televised on KET. At 1:30 p.m. the Inaugural Prelude begins, followed by the Swearing-in Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. at the Capitol.

Ceremonies conclude that evening, with the 8:00 p.m. Grand March at the Capitol Rotunda and the Inaugural Ball at 9:00 p.m. on the Capitol Grounds.

The Beshear administration is also holding a poster contest for children in honor of the celebration. Winners and their families will be invited to the Capitol for the inauguration and be recognized by the governor. The winning artwork will also be framed and on display in the Capitol.
