LOUISVILLE, Ky. — This week’s ‘In Focus Kentucky’ program is on the road this week at one of Kentucky’s oldest summer events — the 119th edition of the Kentucky State Fair. This signature event certainly has something for everyone from blue-ribbon competition to family-friendly entertainment.
During this segment, Ryan Quarles, R-Ky., joins the program. 2023 is the final Kentucky State Fair for Quarles to ovesee the festivities in his official capacity as Agriculture Commissioner.
“What better way to celebrate eight years in office than at the 119th Kentucky State Fair. I think I added it up. I’ve spent over 90 days of my life while in office at the state fair, helping run what I think it’s the largest classroom in Kentucky. We expect it to be well over a half million people into the fairgrounds here in downtown Louisville, celebrating the best of what agriculture means in Kentucky. Lots of competitions, 25,000 exhibits and a lot of family fun,” said Quarles.
