LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Runners taking part in the Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon and Marathon can pick up their race packets starting Thursday, April 27 Over 10,000 people are expected to attend the two-day Race Expo, which is being held at Freedom Hall this year.

  • Runners can check out merchandise from local vendors, speak with health experts and enjoy free samples

  • Late registration for runners is available at the Expo until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 28. 

The expo is open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 28. Attendees should enter the Kentucky Exposition Center through Gate 4.

Late registration for runners is also available at the Expo until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 28. Late registration for the miniMarathon is $115 and $125 for the Marathon.

The Race Expo features packet pick up for the miniMarathon and Marathon, and is a one-stop shop for runners, showcasing health and fitness products, athletic apparel, shoes and accessories. Attendees can pick up race day gear from vendors, as well as visit the Official Festival Race Day Merchandise Shop. They can also talk with the Norton Sports Health Team and pick up a 2023 race magnet, plus enjoy sampling and tasting opportunities.

2023 marks the 50th run for the miniMarathon and the 22nd year for the Marathon. The spring races mark the largest day of road racing in Kentucky. The event offers participants multiple options for running, including the miniMarathon, the full Marathon, a Marathon Relay, and virtual races for both the half and full marathon.

The KDF races are set for Saturday, April 29. Organizers said the Race Expo is the only opportunity for those running to pick up their packets. There is no packet pick up on the race day.

The in-person races will start simultaneously at 7 a.m. at Brook and Main Street, then finish on Adams street, just outside Lynn Family Stadium.
