Pickleball will be the centerpiece of the 45,000-square-foot complex located within the RiverPark Place mixed-use development, just east of the Big Four Bridge and Louisville’s Waterfront Park.

Goodbounce features 6 pickleball courts, and an accompanying 14,000-square-foot gameyard with cornhole, bocce and other lawn games, along with picnic-like areas with swings, tables and shade shelters.

A 2,600-square-foot-indoor bar area features a casual “tiki” feel, with a full bar and dining area along with a retail corner stocked with pickleball equipment, Goodbounce merchandise and other convenience retail items.

The bar menu is inspired by a tropical vacation, leaning heavily into tequila and rum cocktails — including a spiced margarita garnished with, what else, a pickle. The bar also offers a rotating menu of beer from TEN20 Craft Brewery.

There will be a number of food options for guests, including build-your-own tacos, burritos, nachos and bowls, burgers and fried chicken.

“I was first introduced to the sport of pickleball while on vacation several years ago and now it’s my family’s favorite way to take a break from our busy schedules and spend time together,” said John Flodder, a partner in Goodbounce and co-founder of Ten20 Craft Brewery. “Our ultimate goal is to provide a respite right here on the riverfront for people to escape and just have fun.”

Another partner in Goodbounce, Lee Weyland, co-owner of CORE Real Estate Partners, said the massive appeal of pickleball is in its ease.

“It’s become so popular and so in-demand because it’s something that’s simple to learn and is enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels,” he said.
