LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After successful celebrations in 2022, two Louisville staples are bringing back the festivities for Thunder Over Louisville 2023. Lynn Family Stadium's Thunder Over Louisville viewing party and the Kentucky Science Center's Thunderblast will both be held on Saturday, April 22.

Tickets and parking for Thunder at Lynn Family Stadium are on sale now at LynnFamilyStadium.com, Soccer Holdings LLC announced in a news release.

The all-day event boasts family-friendly programming throughout the day, in addition to access to the facility's restrooms and full array of food and drink options. Guests can leave and return as they please, officials said.

Lots open for parking and tailgating at 6 a.m. and stadium gates will open at 11 a.m.

Additionally, matches featuring Louisville's pro soccer teams, Racing Louisville FC and Louisville City FC, will be broadcast on the video board past midnight. City's 7:30 p.m. game at the Charleston Battery will air leading up to the fireworks, which typically start around 9:30 p.m. After the show, Racing's 10:30 p.m. game at the Portland Thorns will also be broadcast.

With all tickets general admission, guests are permitted to move throughout Lynn Family Stadium to scope out the best view or re-enter after watching it elsewhere. New this year, parking lots will have premium restroom trailers available for all guest who purchased a spot for Thunder at Lynn Family Stadium.

Kentucky Science Center's Thunderblast

 

ThunderBlast offers riverside views of the Thunder Over Louisville air show and fireworks from the Science Center’s 8th and Washington Street parking lot, plus a host of exciting activities perfect for all ages. 

 

Guests have access to all of Kentucky Science Center’s 50,000 square feet of fun throughout the day, as well as exclusive entry to the fenced outdoor area with great views of the Thunder Over Louisville action. Plus, guests can enjoy dedicated food and beverage vendors, hands-on learning activities, a children’s play area, and access to clean indoor restrooms and water filling stations.

Tickets can be purchased online until 12 p.m. on April 22 while supplies last. If space remains, additional tickets may be purchased at the door.  All proceeds from the event benefit the Science Center’s mission-driven programming and outreach efforts throughout the region.
