LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Derby Festival announced Monday the host of "American Ninja Warror," Matt Iseman, will be the featured speaker at the annual They're Off! Luncheon.

  • Iseman is also a strong supporter of the Arthritis Foundation and a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society, as he continues his battle with rheumatoid arthritis; he was previously diagnosed with cancer

  • The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. on April 21 at the Galt House Hotel, which has hosted the event since 1974

“We always say at the Derby Festival that we’re in the business of fun. What better way to kick-off the festivities than with someone who's known around the country for making people laugh,” said Matt Gibson, Derby Festival president and CEO. “We look forward to welcoming Matt to Louisville to tell jokes, talk ninja warriors and entertain our guests with his inspiring stories.”

Iseman is joining Lily Tomlin, Robin Roberts, Larry King, Leslie Stahl, Sam Champion, Terry Bradshaw, Erin Andrews, Magic Johnson and more on the long list of featured speakers during the luncheon, which started in 1957. It serves as the kickoff to the Kentucky Derby.

While Iseman is known for hosting "American Ninja Warrior," he also helped with the show's latest spinoff, "American Ninja Warrior Junior" on Peacock. In addition, he's also received an Emmy for the show "Clean House" and has starred in numerous commercials and sitcoms. Prior to entering the TV world, he had a career in medicine. 

Iseman is also a strong supporter of the Arthritis Foundation and a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society, as he continues his battle with rheumatoid arthritis. He was previously diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. 

The luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. on April 21 at the Galt House Hotel, which has hosted the event since 1974.
