AEW produced its live, weekly Wednesday night show "AEW Dyanmite" and recorded its pre-taped weekly show "AEW Rampage" last night in Lexington. One of the wrestlers on the card, Ricky Starks, teamed with Action Andretti to take on wrestling legend Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara.

AEW was founded in 2019 by Tony Khan, but in three years of existence had not come to the Bluegrass State until Wednesday night.

Starks said Wednesday was his first ever trip to Kentucky and was excited to show off for the fans.

“I think it’s pretty exciting just for the fact that I know we have a pretty loyal fan base in Kentucky, and I feel like Kentucky is one of the places that kind of gets overlooked when it comes to having wrestling shows. You don’t hear about a lot of events being ran there," Starks said.

The 32-year-old Starks has been with AEW since 2020 and has even competed for the brand's top title, the AEW World Championship.

"Once I get through with Chris, I'll have a little bit more space and opportunity on my plate to fully focus all my attention on going after the AEW Championship," Starks said.

Starks said he started watching professional wrestling at 7-years-old and grew up idolizing WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker. Now, he's living out a childhood dream in front of millions of fans on television.

"To me, it's very important for the younger Ricky to see how far I've come and basically get everything that I've dreamed of," Starks said.
