Covington police say a fight led to four young people being shot Monday night.

Police were called to the intersection of Russell Street and West 17th Street in Covington in response to a shooting on Monday evening.

Officers found four gunshot victims when they arrived at the scene.

The children are 7, 11 and 14 years old. 41-year-old Brown is in stable condition and his injuries are not life threatening. Police did not release the names of the children. The 7- and 11-year-old boys are all in stable condition. The 14-year-old girl is in critical condition.

Another victim, whose age and sex is not known, was also taken to the hospital because of the fight and not because of the shooting.

In a news conference, police said a fight involving a dozen or more juveniles led to shooting.
