LEXINGTON, Ky.  — The best horses from around the world return to Keeneland in Lexington this November for the 39th annual Breeders Cup.

The Breeders Cup takes place Nov. 4 and 5. It was announced Monday, tickets for the year-end championship meet go on sale Monday, May 9 at noon at BreedersCup.com. This is the third time Keeneland has hosted the World Championships. They were held in Lexington in 2015 and again in 2020.

“We couldn’t be more excited to return to Keeneland for the 39th running of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships,” said Breeders’ Cup President and CEO Drew Fleming in a statement. “As the 2020 World Championships at Keeneland were held without fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we eagerly await the opportunity to return to Lexington in full force in support of local racing fans, businesses, and members of the Thoroughbred industry who are the backbone of our sport.”

Fans who bought tickets to the 2020 Breeders Cup World Championship may repurchase the same or similar seats as they had previously. Anyone who bought tickets to the 2020 event and hasn’t receied an email from the Breeders’ Cup ticketing department should call (859) 514-9428 or email Tickets@BreedersCup.com for help.

Demand for tickets to the event is expected to be high since fans will once again be in attendance. NBC Sports Group will televise the event live.
