LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The most anticipated college sporting event is on the verge of tipping off and this year will look and feel a bit more “normal” after the COVID-19 pandemic. 


What You Need To Know

  • NCAA March Madness Confidential will follow seven college teams through the tournament

  • The teams are Kentucky, Wisconsin, Auburn, Texas Tech, Providence, Memphis and Notre Dame

  • The tournament begins Tuesday with the First Four. Indiana is playing for a spot in the tournament

  • The Final Four and National Championship are taking place in New Orleans, where UK won its last national title

 

The NCAA Division I Men’s College Basketball Championship gets underway Tuesday with the NCAA First Four. Kentucky’s neighbors to the north, Indiana will play Wyoming at 9:10 p.m. on truTV. It is the second game of the night. The first game at 6:40 p.m. has Texas A&M-CC taking on Texas Southern.

Turner Sports and CBS Sports’ joint coverage of the NCAA tournament will also feature the return of “NCAA March Madness Confidential.” The show will provide exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to seven teams as they fight to make their way through the tournament. This year’s Confidential series features Kentucky, Wisconsin, Auburn, Texas Tech, Providence, Memphis and Notre Dame.

In a statement, CBS and Turner Sports announced production crews began embedding with teams on Selection Sunday. Fans can see series on all the cable stations carrying the tournament - TBS, CBS, TNT and truTV. The official social media pages of the tournament - @MarchMadnessMBB Twitter and Facebook, @MM_MBB_TV, NCAA.com and CBS Sports and Turner Sports social media accounts will also have the series.

Turner Sports and CBS Sports will provide live coverage of the 67 games of the tournament. The Final Four National Semifinals take place Saturday, April 2 with the National Championship on Monday, April 4 live from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Both will be broadcast by TBS.

Kentucky Wildcats fans are familiar with New Orleans and the Superdome. Coach John Calipari and his team won last won their last national title there in 2012 by beating Kansas 67 to 59.
