KENTUCKY — Winter weather has walloped the Commonwealth over the last few weeks, and another system rolled through much of the state on Thursday.

The storm produced freezing rain, sleet, snow and ice across much of Kentucky, creating hazardous travel conditions for some and significant power outages as ice accumulates on roadways and power lines. The storm stuck around until early Friday morning.

As of 11:55 a.m. ET Friday, over 9,000 outages were reported statewide.

Many school districts, businesses and local government buildings announced closures ahead of Thursday's ice storm, and some extended their closures into Friday.
