MAYFIELD, Ky. — Kentucky State Police are searching for an inmate who escaped while on work release in Graves County, in the southwest part of the state.

Brian Ferryman walked away from the candle factory in Mayfield just after 7 a.m. Monday where he had been placed on work release. KSP personnel at Post 1 in Hickory were notified just after 9 a.m.

In a statement, KSP say it is possible Ferryman was picked up in a Kia Rio but details about the car and what direction he might be heading is unknown. Ferryman is 6'3," weighs approximately 320 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. 

Ferryman was jailed for car theft and receiving stolen property. He was being held at the Calloway County jail in Murray.
