  • Nationwide Uniform employees received vaccines on Wednesday

“Honestly, if they didn't come to my work, if they didn't come to Nationwide, I probably wouldn't have got the vaccine,” Chelsea Duran, an employee for Nationwide Uniform Corporation Company said.

The health department is traveling to different communities, businesses and neighborhoods to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

“One of the ways we've been doing that, especially with our vulnerable population, is to go to places that make it easier for them to get the vaccine. Work with local leaders who are trusted in their communities that are easy access for those individuals who may want one but because of transportation issues, work schedule, they can't get one,” Terrie Burgan, public information officer at Lincoln Trail District Health Department, said.

One of the places Lincoln Trail traveled to is Nationwide Uniform Corporation Company, an opportunity for several employees to get vaccinated without having to leave work or take time off.

“Them actually coming here and giving us the opportunity to stop what we're doing, come get the vaccine, it was so convenient and I couldn't pass that chance up,” Duran said.

The health department administered 60 vaccines in the two clinics they offered at Nationwide. They also provided individuals who get vaccinated with information regarding the vaccine, side effects, and what to expect.

Lincoln Trail has been to various businesses during the pandemic, simply transforming a workspace into a vaccination clinic with the ultimate goal of vaccinating as many people as possible.

“So we were used to adapting to what we have to work with, this was very easy to adapt to. We have space here, we can come up, we can sit, we can use what's available here and provide that clean environment to give the vaccinations and do our job,” Burgan said.
