LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Louisville's large downtown entertainment venue Fourth St. Live! is in the middle of a hiring blitz —100 positions in three days.
It's a hopeful sign Louisville has put the worst of the pandemic behind as more restaurants rehire positions once lost to shutdowns and COVID-19 restrictions.
“We’re very excited about it, we’re very positive about it and I know we’re going to get good people," Antuan del Carpio told Spectrum News 1.
Carpio is the Director of Operations at Fourth St. Live! He's centralizing hiring for many of the tenants here. Admittedly, hiring 100 people in 3 days won't be easy.
"I think the entire city and the country itself is definitely going to struggle to get people in and I think that’s the conversation restaurateurs and people in the hospitality business," Carpio said.
Fourth St. Live! is interviewing for the following positions:
- Servers
- Bartenders
- Hosts
- Bus staff
- Runners
- Cooks
- Dishwashers
On Tuesday Christian Madrid came to apply in person. Madrid has been without a regular job for more than a year.
"Really, I just want everything to get back to normal so everyone can get back on with their lives," Madrid said. He's actually an alum of TGI Friday's and now ready to return to the food service industry after a year of mostly odd jobs.
According to the entertainment district's Facebook page, the hiring event is taking place Tuesday through Thursday, April 8 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily. They are looking to hire both part-time and full-time employees. Before coming downtown to the hiring event, those looking for employment should fill out an application online.
