  • Warren Coutny Public Schools forced to close due to the flooding despite planned return to in-person class

More than 4 inches of rain was recorded, according to the National Weather Service, and Kentucky Transportation Officer Wes Watt says that some roads remain blocked.

"We’ve seen reports of 4 inches, almost 6 inches, it just depends on the area," said Watt. "That's a lot of water on the roadways, and we saw a lot of flooding. Most of it was temporary overnight, and a lot of it has subsided today, but there are certainly a number of roads still blocked."

Drivers should be careful on the roads and not try to drive through the high water that remains.

"Nobody should attempt to drive through a flooded road," said Watt "It’s almost impossible to tell how deep the water is for sure, but these people think they know for sure then they try to cross it and get stuck. It’s not worth the risk. Turn around and go a different route."

Warren County Public Schools were set to return to in-person classes on Monday but canceled because of the flooding.

Watt's crews have barricaded multiple roads as drainage systems continue to operate throughout Warren County.
