FRANKFORT, Ky. - People gathered to protest Governor Andy Beshear's order that closes many businesses during the coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday, the group of protestors held signs outside of the capitol and later moved inside to chant during Beshear's daily briefing. They demanded to go back to work.

"You work for us" signs read. Another featured the words "Andy, you are not king" and "give me liberty or give me death."

People could be heard in the background of the governor's press conference.

"Everybody should be able to express their opinion...they believe we should reopen Kentucky, immediately, right now. Folks, that would kill people," Beshear responded.

Spectrum News 1 crews observed some protesters wearing protective gear, but not all. While some maintained personal space, others gathered closely together.

"There is no partisanship in this, it's just us doing what it takes to protect people," said Beshear.
