A deputy with the Olive Hill Police Department was shot in the arm while sitting in his police car at around 3:14 p.m. He was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

Ashland and University of Kentucky Libraries Special Collections Research Center exchanged a rare image of a slave that worked at the estate and was Henry Clay’s personal valet. The image is of Aaron Dupuy, who was one of 120 slaves owned by Henry Clay, and is believed to be from the 1850s.
