KENTUCKY — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention observes National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month each July. This observance raises awareness of the challenges that affect the mental health of racial and ethnic minority groups.

State Rep. Nima Kulkarni (D-Jefferson County) has been one of the leading advocates for mental health awareness in the Kentucky General Assembly.

Rep. Kulkarni joins this In Focus Kentucky segment to discuss her policy work in the state legislature to address mental health concerns for all populations across the Commonwealth, including minorities and youth.
