The festival spans three days. On Saturday, several vendors set up tables and booths to sell a variety of goods.

Food is an important part of the festival and there were trucks and restaurants serving up Colombian, Mexican, and Cuban dishes.

“We hear back from the community that this is a perfect time to really be themselves, to experience foods that maybe they haven’t had since they’ve been home with their families,” said Jessica Piersol, the special events manager for Lexington Parks and Recreation.

People took to the festival stage on Saturday to perform a variety of dances that honored the countries they come from.

“It’s very important for us because it represents our culture, you know, it’s once a year and, you know, people come here to the festival, meet people from different countries,” said Jackie Arakaki, the president of FLACA.

Sunday is the third and final day of the festival.
