LEXINGTON, Ky. — The two-day Railbird Festival announced a big change for the shows taking place in three weeks. Because of rising COVID-19 cases, the festival announced festival attendees must show proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results.

What You Need To Know

  • Railbird Festival requiring all concertgoers to show proof of vaccination or of negative COVID-19 testing

  • The two-day festival takes place at the Grounds of Keeneland on Aug. 28-29

  • Visitors will just need a copy of their vaccination card or test

  • The 2020 Railbird Festival was canceled because of COVID-19

For those who aren't vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 3 days (72 hours) of first attending Railbird.

Here is how entry to Railbird 2021 will take place:

  1. Each day festivalgoers must bring a printed copy of their vaccine card, vaccine record or printed negative COVID-19 test. It must show the date of the test.
  2. Patrons should bring their festival wristband
  3. Unvaccinated visitors are being asked to wear a mask the entire time at the festival.

Railbird is not requiring masks for fully vaccinated visitors in outdoor spaces. The last date you would be eligible to be considered "fully vaccinated" would be August 14, 2021, with a Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine.

The Railbird Festival is Aug. 28-29 at the Grounds at Keeneland. The 2020 Railbird Festival was canceled because of COVID-19. This year's headliners are My Morning Jacket on Saturday and The Dave Matthews Band on Sunday. You can find a full list of performers on the festival's website.
