LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Railbird Festival won't be taking the stage in Lexington this year as the coronavirus pandemic cancels gatherings of all kinds. The annual music festival, however, plans to return next year.
"The health and safety of our fans, artists, staff, and community is our number one priority. Rest assured Railbird will return to the grounds at Keeneland August 20-21, 2021," said a statement released by Railbird Festival.
Those who already bought their tickets can retain them for Railbird 2021 by logging into their Front Gate account and selecting the rollover option before Monday, July 13 at 8 p.m. Ticket holders who don't select the rollover option will receive a refund within roughly 30 days after July 13.
While the festival is canceled, it still plans on keeping the spirit alive by releasing the 2020 Railbird Select Single Barrel Bourbons. Any 21 and over 2020 ticket holders who retain their tickets for 2021 will have early access to purchase the bourbon from Justins' House of Bourbon this fall.
The festival also announced it's working on other ways to activate its original weekend in 2020 with preffered access in mind for 2021 rollover ticket holders. Details will be released at a later date.
"We cannot thank the city of Lexington, our dedicated fans and partners, and everyone who’s come together to help build this amazing experience enough for their continued support," said the statement.
