KENTUCKY — This week on In Focus Kentucky we’re having a one-on-one conversation with U.S. Rep. Brett Guthrie, R-Bowling Green. He was first elected to public office in 1998, where he represented the 32nd District in the Kentucky State Senate until being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2008.

Guthrie currently serves as the Chair of the Health Subcommittee on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and as a Deputy Whip within the House Republican Conference.

During this segment, Rep. Guthrie confirms he intends to run for reelection in 2024 to serve another term representing the Second Congressional District of Kentucky and shares additional items he hopes to accomplish in this current session of Congress, including his signature SUPPORT ACT which has passed committee and is waiting on a full floor vote, this bill would provide critical funds to help provide wraparound services to those with substance use disorder to help save lives from this epidemic. And his plan to Lower Costs More Transparency Act, which would empower patients and lower costs through price transparency in the health care system.
