FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Administrative Office of the Courts has launched a new webpage to help protect Kentuckians from payment scams, including those involving fake arrest warrants and missed jury service.
It offers tips to help the public stay informed of common fraud schemes, resources to help others protect themselves from scams and an outlet for reporting fraud and getting further assistance. This includes a video featuring commonly used scam tactics, a link to jury service information by county, a fraud fact and tip sheet and contact information for reporting scams.
The webpage's launch comes during the Federal Trade Commission's Identity Theft Awareness Week. The FTC and its partners will host free webinars and other events throughout the week highlighting how to spot, avoid, report and recover from identity theft.
As the operations arm for Kentucky's court system, the AOC supports the activities of nearly 3,300 employees and 412 elected justices, judges and circuit court clerks.
