Buffalo native Jessica Pegula, the daughter of Bills and Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula, and Coco Gauff, have lost in the women's tennis doubles quarterfinal round. 

The pair fell to a group out of the Czech Republic, Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova, 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 in a match tiebreaker on Wednesday.

Pegula and Gauff were knocked out just short of having a chance to compete in a medal round. 

Pegula also lost in the second round of women's singles on Sunday. On Tuesday, Gauff was defeated by Donna Vekic of Croatia in straight sets in the third round of singles.
