BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Students at Western Kentucky University took their creation to a regional competition and literally rowed away with a victory.
WKU's senior concrete canoe team competed in Akron, Ohio and with their victory they now head to a nation concrete canoe competition in Melbourne, Florida June 6.
The competition allows civil engineering students to show off what they have learned in their years at college. The judging panel not only reviews the boat's seaworthiness, students must also present a detailed paper and presentation. The Hilltoppers will be one of 26 teams competing at nationals.
