LOS ANGELES (CNS) — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County decreased Tuesday for the 75th time in the last 77 days since setting a record, dropping 1.1 cents to $5.268, its lowest amount since March 5.

The average price has dropped $1.192 since rising to a record $6.462 on June 14, including two-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 6.3 cents less than one week ago and 39 cents lower than one month ago, but 86.4 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped Tuesday eight-tenths of a cent to $5.18. It has dropped $1.23 since rising to a record $6.41 on June 12.

The Orange County average price is 5 cents less than one week ago and 37.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 81.3 cents more than one year ago.

The national average price dropped for the 77th consecutive day since rising to a record, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.844. It has dropped $1.172 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, including three-tenths of a cent on Monday.

The national average price is 4.8 cents less than one week ago and 38.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 69.3 cents more than one year ago.
