Kristopher Gee, a multimedia journalist at Spectrum News, is a native Angeleno, raised in both Los Angeles and Vancouver, Canada.

Kristopher joined the Spectrum News team with a background in independent and documentary filmmaking and composing for film and TV, including work on some Hollywood blockbusters and an Academy Award winner in 2018. Among his other achievements are an Akira Kurosawa Foundation Award for one of his short films, and an award from the Los Angeles Press Club for his coverage of the Arts & Culture beat. As an MMJ, Kristopher helped launch Spectrum News 1 in California in 2018 and is excited to help tell the stories of LA's diverse, creative communities.

Kristopher enjoys exploring LA's vibrant arts and culture scenes. His idea of a perfect day consists of morning coffee from Grand Central Market, going for a bike ride to discover something new, or spending an afternoon treasure hunting at Amoeba Music, or at one of LA's many independent records shops. Kristopher is also an avid cinephile who loves exploring the farthest reaches of the cinematic universe past, present, and future.

When not crafting news pieces, Kristopher loves painting, composing, reading, writing, spending time with his dogs, and searching for the perfect croissant.
