LOS ANGELES — Disney's live-action "Snow White" opened to $43 million domestically — well below box-office expectations — and has been the subject of debates around its casting, the use of CGI characters, and differing political views of the film's leads Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot.

Meanwhile, "No Other Land" — an Oscar-winner for best feature-length documentary — has yet to find a U.S. distributor despite making $400,000 domestically and $2.5 million worldwide.

"No Other Land" co-director Hamdan Ballal was reportedly attacked by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank on March 24, according to eyewitnesses and his attorney. The Palestinian filmmaker was detained by Israeli forces and then released March 25.
