ANAHEIM, Calif. — A man has conducted more than 100 interviews with World War II veterans.

Zach Coco is a freelance photographer with the nonprofit organization Pictures for Heroes. For four years, he’s been interviewing and photographing veterans for a book he titled WWII Heroes.

“It’s extremely worthwhile. I couldn’t find a better way to spend my days off,” said Coco.

Coco’s grandfather served in the Navy during WWII and is his inspiration.

“I think it’s important to record these experiences. I think a lot of people nowadays don’t realize what the men and women went through to preserve our freedom,” said Coco.

The book came out on Veterans Day, which as it turns out is also Coco’s birthday.
