After a mild week across Wisconsin, temperatures come crashing down for the weekend, just as kids head out for trick-or-treat.

What You Need To Know

  • High temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s on Saturday

  • Some areas won’t make it out of the 30s on Sunday

  • Watching for a few raindrops, and possibly flakes, here and there

Thousands of kids across Wisconsin will venture out into their neighborhoods for trick-or-treat, but the weather won’t be delivering us many treats. Mother Nature may have some tricks up her sleeve with the weekend forecast.

Expect temperatures on Saturday to only reach into the 40s and low 50s in most places. A few spots in northern Wisconsin can expect afternoon highs in the 30s.

Kids will likely need to wear layers underneath their costumes if trick-or-treating on Saturday evening.

Although trick-or-treat looks mostly dry Saturday, we cannot rule out the chance of a stray raindrop or even a snowflake in parts of western Wisconsin by the time the kids head out and about.

Unfortunately, on Sunday, temperatures look to be even colder with statewide highs in the 30s and 40s. A lucky few in southeastern Wisconsin could climb into the lower 50s Sunday afternoon, but most will be colder.

We will be on the lookout for the chance of passing showers and even a few snowflakes in spots.

As of now, it looks like most of the precipitation will be wrapped up by the time trick-or-treat begins. You may still want to send your kids out with an umbrella if you live in eastern Wisconsin.

Layers and coats will be needed for trick-or-treat this year. It will also be a good idea to bring that umbrella with you as you venture out into your neighborhoods.
