Rain started to move into Wisconsin Tuesday, and with an area of low pressure located over Wisconsin, showers will continue to circulate through Wednesday into Thursday.

What You Need To Know

  • Staying rain for southern Wisconsin

  • It will be breezy and cooler for much of the state

  • Northern Wisconsin will see snow and wintry mix Wednesday

  • You can send us your weather photos

As of early Wednesday morning, we're already seeing numerous locations with over an inch of rainfall. Keep in mind with more rain in sight, minor flooding is still a possibility.

With rain switching over to a wintry mix and snow in northern Wisconsin, a Winter Weather Advisory and Winter Storm Warning is in place for several counties through late Wednesday (the warning will be through 1 p.m., the advisory through 7 p.m.).

We're already seeing reports of ice forming around Antigo to start the day. Minor snow accumulation will also be likely for those in north-central Wisconsin.

We're mainly looking at slippery roadways, but for the northern half of the state, with wintry mix, there may be some icy spots. And, with fog in parts of the state, visibility may be reduced.

It won't be a bad idea to allow extra time for your Wednesday commute.

We'll continue to see wintry mix and snow circulating through far north-central/northwestern Wisconsin throughout Wednesday. This could lead to minor snow accumulation for parts of northern Wisconsin.

As for southern Wisconsin, we'll see rain at times, cloudy during breaks. The majority of Wednesday afternoon we're looking at light rain passing through.

A heads-up for your Wednesday evening commute: With showers continuing to move through the state, there still could be some slippery and slick spots on the roadways.

These showers will continue into Thursday. With colder temperatures in store (mid to upper 30s), we'll see a better chance for a rain/snow combination as these showers leave the state.

Thursday's showers will mainly impact those farther south and east before clearing out by Thursday evening.
