Snow continues to move across Wisconsin Wednesday, bringing heavy snowfall in northern Wisconsin and blowing snow statewide.

What You Need To Know

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Douglas, Ashland, Bayfield, Iron and Vilas counties. Several cities may see accumulations greater than 12 inches.

A Winter Weather Advisory have been issued for the rest of the state due to the threat of snow covered roads and blowing snow. Expect poor visibility making driving conditions extremely difficult and hazardous at times.

The majority of the heavy snow will sweep across the northern half the state the rest of Wednesday. Expect the highest totals to be north of Rhinelander.

However, some light snow is still possible as far south as Madison and Milwaukee.

Snow will start to clear out throughout Wednesday evening. There may still be some lingering flurries (mainly in the eastern half of the state) as we head into Thursday.

It will remain windy Wednesday in Wisconsin. Winds may gust up to 40 mph.

Due to the strong winds and previous snowfall, blowing snow becomes a serious risk for travel plans. White out conditions will be possible. Please drive with caution.

Due to some lake enhancement, extreme northern Wisconsin along Lake Superior could see over 12 inches of snow.

Hayward to Rhinelander sits under the 6-9 inch range for snowfall. A band from Eau Claire to Wausau will likely see 3-6 inches. Green Bay, Waupaca and La Crosse fall into a strip of 1-3 inches.

Whereas, Madison and Milwaukee will likely get a dusting. Totals will look to be less than an inch.
