A Tornado Watch has been issued for much of the state until 11 p.m.

This evening, a storm system will move through, bringing strong and severe storms to the Badger State.

Portions of far western Wisconsin are under a moderate risk (4 out of 5 or "likely") for severe weather.

Those who live in Eau Claire, La Crosse, Pepin, Buffalo and Independence are in the target zone with this event.

Starting this evening around 8 p.m., strong storms will move into far western Wisconsin. Between 8-11 p.m. is when we could see the best chance for severe weather.

These storms will move into eastern Wisconsin around midnight, clearing out shortly after 2 or 3 a.m.

While these storms move across the Badger State, they are likely to decrease in intensity.

The main threat with these storms will be damaging wind. With the potential for these storms to produce gusts over 65 mph, this will lead to downed trees and even power outages.

A few tornadoes will also be possible with some of these storms.

Although eastern Wisconsin will have less chance to see severe weather, all of the Badger State is under a High Wind Warning until early Thursday morning around 9 a.m.

Most locations will see wind gusts up to 65 mph. If you have outdoor decorations or furniture, it would be a good night to bring them in.
