  • We expect fresh powder later this week as two storms hit the state

Did you know that Wisconsin has over 30 ski resorts and locations? There’s probably one closer to you than you think!

This map gives an idea of where each location is across the state:

With the first weekend of December behind us, which brought significant snow to northern Wisconsin, many ski resorts are itching to get people out on the slopes and into the lifts.

If you are thinking about making plans to go skiing this week or weekend, here is a list of resorts currently open and ready to see you:

  • Alpine Valley
  • Ausblick Ski Hill
  • Blackhawk Ski Club
  • Cascade Mountain
  • Granite Peak
  • Keyes Peak Ski Hill

Most of northern Wisconsin has a lot of natural snow in place, and it's also pretty fresh! Heads up that we could see another storm system by the end of this week, which could dump even more fresh snow across northern Wisconsin. This may end up impacting conditions at a few resorts, so call ahead before you go.

Meanwhile, southern Wisconsin has missed out on the snowstorms so far this year. Most of the snow found here is manmade but still great for skiing.

No matter where you go or when you get there, be sure to take a few pictures and send them our way via the Spectrum News 1 app.

Stay safe, have fun and enjoy the snow season across Wisconsin!
